Living statues on the South BankDr. Abuduwasiti Wulamu (aka Abduwasit Ghulam in publcations) has an joint appoinment as a geospatial analyst with the Department of Biology, and Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at Saint Louis University. He also serves as the Chief Architect for GIS systems in Center for Environmental Sciences. He received his BS degree in Physical Geography and MS degree in Cartology and GIS from Xinjiang University, China in 1998 and 2001, respectively, and his PhD degree in Cartology and GIS from Peking University in 2006. He has authored more than 30 scientific papers and has written two book chapters. His current research interests include retrieval of surface biophysical parameters by remote sensing, hydrological modeling based on remote sensing & GIS, mineral exploration and monitoring of natural hazards and arid, semi-arid environments as well.
